The AMP (Al Mega Podcast) – Jason Skeesick

Al Mega welcomes Jason Skeesick, known as the Entrepreneurial Evangelist, to the Al Mega Podcast. Jason is renowned for his motivating stories and his determination to help others reach their goals. Al Mega and Jason met on the Pop Match network, which is full of inspiring entrepreneurs. Al Mega praised Jason for his work and asked him about his origin and motivations in life. Jason thanked Al for inviting him onto the podcast and praised Alex from Pop Match for helping the community. Al Mega asked Jason what motivated him early in life, to which he replied that he was born and raised in a small town in central California and that his parents instilled in him the value of hard work and dedication. He said that his early motivations in life were to make a difference and that he wanted to do something that would make a positive impact on the world. Jason believes that with the right mindset and determination, anyone can achieve their dreams.

The speaker is from outside of Chicago, where he spent most of his young life growing up in the suburbs. His biggest inspirations were his hardworking dad, who was a plumber, and his mother, who encouraged him to learn new things. He was exposed to a variety of hobbies, such as pottery, drawing, and poetry. At age 8, he was pulled out of regular school and placed in a behavior disorder school, where he learned what not to do and saw people in bad situations. He was the youngest and only student there, and was able to learn at his own pace. This gave him the confidence to pursue his own path as an entrepreneur.

The conversation was about the path that the speaker took in life before becoming an entrepreneur. He talked about how he had always gone deep on the things that he was passionate about, such as snowboarding and cars, and how he only did jobs that were related to things that he was passionate about. The speaker then revealed that before he had his moment of clarity, he was not passionate about anything that was making him money. He mentioned that he joined the military, which gave him purpose and discipline, and allowed him to do what he said he was going to do, show up with discipline, and lead.

The speaker began by describing his journey of transitioning from the military back into civilian life. He decided to pursue finance, becoming a banker, but found he was not good at it. At the same time, he started a small community CrossFit gym in Chicago with two other veterans. After a few years, he decided to focus on entrepreneurship and his passion for helping the CrossFit community, though it took seven years before he had 200 members and then another six months to get 300.

Highlights

Come on. We we have re riches that we could see the string holding his arm when he’s dressed. I mean, that’s what we had. So when I see this, I appreciate the crap out of it. I’m happy to see a Latino super on screen. It looks cool. It may not be for everybody. If it looks family friendly, I don’t care. I love Shazam. I thought it was fun. I love black Adam book movie. I thought it was such a fun comic book movie.
Yeah. I don’t try not to ask it about the news or people as much as more like, I use it to write emails, or I’ll use it to write ads, or I’ll use it to write content or market research. Here’s a good one. If you want to research something quickly, you can have it give you a synopsis of a book. Or you could have it like, hey, I want to serve people who love comic books that are male, that are from 35 to 50 and listen to podcasts. And then it’ll tell you like, well, they’re probably interested in this, they’re probably interested in that. These would be some good guests to get. And so there’s ways to just sort of take, like, 80% of the boring work and then focus on the 20% of creative work.
It comes with hello plans. I think it’s a wonderful tool. I’m digging from all aspects, from writing to podcasting ideas. You can actually ask questions about yourself. Although, Jason, I’ll tell you, this is a funny story before we go. One of my friends, he is a video game journalist. He covers video game business. Known great guy. I met him at New York Comic Con a couple of years ago. He’s out there doing his thing, so he decides when they ask about himself within chat GPT.
Yeah. One thing I would give you is what I’ll do. I don’t do it as often lately because I’ve been in flow, but usually about once a month, I’ll go into a float tank, like a sensory deprivation float tank, and I’ll just alone with a very small amount. And it just helps you to clarify. Like if you ever seen an old engine diagram where it’s all blown up and you can see all the parts. It helps me to kind of blow up my relationships and my business and the systems and sort of move things around, and then I can put them back together more efficiently that way.
We were hanging out. We did what we did listening to music. Let me tell you, Jason, I dropped some of the best lyrics of life. I like doing hip hop, and I play around, but wow, did I start rhyming. It opened up even my next door neighbor, because he was actually a rapper and producer, looking at him was like, oh, damn, I didn’t know you had it in you like that. Now, we were having a good time. The neighbors were looking in the garage.
